The lack of electricity at schools is unfortunate in this age of digitization and climatic conditions of Uttar

Pradesh region where extreme high and low temperatures variations are there.

With the rise in the number of unscheduled power cuts, government schools in rural areas of UP are having a tough time, as  students and Teachers are uncomfortable  in hot and humid climate conditions in overcrowded and sometimes suffocated classrooms and hour-long power outages added to miseries of school staff and students. Health of the students also gets affected due to the scorching heat and humidity during summers and hours long load shedding .School Management is helpless as in the absence of adequate funds they are not able to install any power backup facility at their schools. Due to the power cuts, the internet gets disconnected at the school and they are facing problems in sending data to the Government offices like Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA) office and the district education office (DEO). In case of emergency, school office staff provide the information over phone or visit the offices to hand over the information in writing which unnecessarily delays the work. Much needed digitalization of education gets hampered due to this lack of continuous power backup system in schools.
