Yoga is an ancient physical mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word Yoga derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolising the union of body and consciousness. The essence of yoga is balance not just balance within the body or that between the mind and the body but also balance in the human relationship with each other. Yoga emphasizes the value of mindfulness moderation discipline and severance. It offers a path for sustainable living. In today’s world, yoga plays a very important role in every one’s life. If we talk about how important yoga is for a student, then we will see many benefits. Students are very stressed individuals these days, practicing yoga helps students in many ways. Yoga innate ability to clear the mental chatter and reduces stress and anxiety. It helps to improve the memory function and focus.

Recognising its Universal appeal on 11th December, 2014, the United Nation proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga. To commemorate this occasion as well recognising the benefits of Yoga, PRAGRATH organises Yoga workshop in various schools under its “Gyatavya Bharat” initiative which celebrates the uniqueness of India under the guidance of Mrs. Suman Giri, a certified Yoga Trainer.
